Can I buy liquor online?

Amarillo, by Any Other Name, Is Still Yellow.
People often call me up and ask if I know if they can buy liquor online in Amarillo, Texas. I answer. And I tell them that “of course, you can buy liquor online in Amarillo. And that if I lived in Amarillo, I’d be buying enough liquor online to keep me in a state of not caring that I live in a city named “Yellow.” I like yellow. It’s my favorite color. I just don’t want to live in yellow. And while the Spanish language makes most words seem cool – and Amarillo accomplishes that – I still know that Amarillo means yellow. Why is Amarillo called Amarillo? Possibly because of the color found in the sub-soil at Amarillo Creek. Or maybe because early Spanish traders found an abundance of yellow flowers growing there. To honor their name, early residents even painted their houses yellow. And the county courthouse was made of a yellow-tinted brick from Amarillo Creek. AND…Amarillo was the first known place to tie yellow ribbons ‘round their old oak trees. Myth or Truth? There is a myth that Amarillo received its name because the residents were chicken – afraid. A bunch of yellow-bellied cowards that run from their shadows. But myth is not fact, and Amarilloans have long disputed this, even hiring a PR firm to highlight Amarilloan acts of courage. So far, no such stories have been made public. Hmmm. They Love Their Music. In Amarillo, residents hang out on street corners, singing songs of the area as tumbleweeds tumble by. Well, mostly, they sing only one song. Donovan’s Mellow Yellow. Well, mostly, they sing only one part of one song. They call me mellow yellow (Quite rightly) They call me mellow yellow (Quite rightly) They call me mellow yellow. I guess if you live in Amarillo, you can never have too much yellow. Amarillo by Mornin’ A pretty good song performed by George Strait. He didn’t write it, but he done sung it well. Amarillo by Night. Okay, there are cultured things to do in Amarillo. – A ballet – although the moniker “Lone Star Ballet” conjures images of dancers in cowboy boots, but to each his own. – An opera. The Amarillo Opera. Amarillo customizes their opera by mixing in a bit of yodeling and a steel guitar. It’s not to be missed. And there are the non-cultured nightlife offerings. The fun stuff. Bars, nightclubs, music venues. People looking for people. Vibrant. Loud. Friendly. Dancing. Ironed Wrangler jeans. Cowboy hats. Big buckles. And people in yellow shirts and yellow ribbons yelling “yeehaw.” Party at Home. If you’re looking for something a bit quieter, Amarillo’s got you covered. Stay home, order your liquor online, and have it delivered to your home. Or to your friend’s home.
